Portfolio II
Throughout my Portfolio II class, i created many different sounds for various games. I designed sounds for picking up different "power-ups"in the first assigned game. The designed effects were "one-shot" sounds, meant to be triggered during a certain action. in this case it was a power-up, in other cases it was a door being opened or clicking a button. Some games required a combination of short, one-shot sounds, and looping ambient sounds. I was tasked with designing a looping sound that would represent a cave with lava flowing through. Whilst the loop of ambient "cave noise" played, I designed one-shot sounds to make up the noise of hot lava bubbling. I used the same technique for the portal sounds. A loop for standing portal noise, and a one-shot for the act of going through the portal.
